Strong, top quality and looks good

These stools are so easy to put together / construct. They come with clear instructions / diagrams on a sheet of A4 paper. Included in the pack are the four bolts needed and a strong key, although I used my power driver rather than the key for ease and simplicity. Once the stools are together they work perfectly, better than most office chairs where the hydrolic parts soon start falling apart and fail. What I really like about these stools though is that they have a nice little bounce to them as you sit. The stool sinks a couple of inches with your weight and returns as you get off. You will notice some scratches on the wooden seat, in the pics but they are simply cosmetic and will either fade with time or they can be polished out easily enough so any minor scratches to the wooden seats are not a problem at all as they do not affect the look or the comfort of these stools. (note, since the initial review I used a bit of walnut oil and rubbed it into the scratches then polished the seats up and the scratches were gone. Rather than using chemical laden furniture polishes, nut oils are great natural furniture polishes for any type of wooden surface and nut oils also taste good in salads, stir fry etc.) The wooden seat is made of log wood, there are no obvious joints, there are no knots, just a simple strong timber that looks great. I certainly recommend these stools as they not only look good, not only feel good but they will also last for many a year so they are good value.

    Only 8 bolts to tighten

I am really impressed from the quality of the bar stools. Most of the parts are made to just put one on top of the other and they fit snug. Only the seats have 4 bolts on each to tighten. You need to put the base on the floor, then the bigger side of the gas strut goes in the hole of the base. Then you put the part with footrest on top of the gas strut. The part with footrest also has 4 holes for bolts. These holes have to be on top as they are used for fixing the seat to the part with footrest. After that you need to put the seat on top, then put the 4 bolts in the holes and tighten the bolts. Then the stool is ready to use. It is important to sit on each stool right after you assemble it, so the parts can fit really snug before moving the stool. The bases of the stools, the posts of the stools and the bottom of the seats are painted in matt black. The tops of the seats are made from wood, which looks aming. The wooden tops of the seats are not made smooth and then polished, but are left with deep wood grain textures and then polished. They are really nice to touch. The posts of the stools are also adjustable gas struts which are used for the adjustable height of the stools. The seats are able to swivel on 360˚ which is really good. As the set is black,it is matching really well with marble white tiled floor and also marble white worktop. Recommend them. Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.

    Disappointing

These look good from a distance but, close up, the wood on the tops is cheap/looking. Scruffy, Mrs G called them. Theyre disappointing, compared with the pictures in the listing. One of them has lots of little scratches and they both have slightly open joints between the slats see photos. The colour isnt as golden as the pictures suggest either. It looked as though they would be similar to the light/oak in our kitchen but they arent. They are of course fairly hard and provide little long/term comfort. Theyre fine for short periods with breakfast or lunch, say, but not for sitting using a laptop, as I often do at our breakfast bar. The absence of backs doesnt help. Our old stools have padding under the leather covers and low backs to sit back against from time to time. They were a lot cheaper too. If they cost quite a lot less than the current 120, Id perhaps rate them four stars, despite the faults with the tops, since theyll soon pick up marks in use and the original faults will be forgotten. 120 for two is too much, however. Id expect beautiful tops in oak or beech or similar for that money.

    Barstool Review

First: Customer service was remarkable! Maybe best I have had here on ! Feel confident in support and service. Second: Chairs look nice and were very easy to assemble. Third: Only game 3 out of 5 stars in sturdiness as the chairs were lighter than I needed. I think they will work for most anyone but we needed something heavier for our situation.

    I like them

Im very pleased with how easy they were to put together. Very comfortable. The base is a rocky so no gymnastics on them and your set.

    Nice product, needs heavier base.

The base of the chair should be heavier to be more stabilized. It is nice and comfortable otherwise.
