This piece took my husband all day to put together. I purchased this bc of the wood and reviews for being sturdy but we had to go and purchase thick plywood with a fine finish to use instead of the slats that came with the bed. They were compressed wood and splintered everywhere. We threw them out . Also, I used 8 inch mattresses and they fit just fine for the kids And still safe. Recommend getting corner guards. simple yet awesome design
I wrote a long review and it got deleted so here I go again but shorter its great once its joined sturdy and looks beautiful takes up very little space and is very safe .
The assembly is such a pain in the backside though it took us almost 6 hours as the instructions where off and the stairs come in separate box that took us a minimum of 2 hours by itself to assemble .
Done if the instructions did not make sense telling us to join part b with f and those parts did not go together . We also constructed the stairs according to the instructions but when we came to attaché them to the bunk one of the side pieces was the wrong one so stairs had to be taken apart again so that it could attaché to the bunk correctly . The bunk can be constructed with stairs on left or right and you have to follow the correct instructions for that but even after doing that we had an issue so in total it took us over 5 hours to join this bunk but my girls love it so I guess it was worth it . I advise maybe join the bunk in one day and stair on another just to break it up . I joined this with my husband so I had help but it still took so long . cant praise it enough!

Bonus is that my girls are absolutely obsessed with it. There was one pretty noticeable blemish on it that we saw as it was being put together. It was not serious enough for us to take all our progress apart and return, although by that point we were desperate to be done with it. Best choice
Revised review / I originally only received the staircase box, and was quick to confirm that UPS didnt have any outstanding orders / and quickly issued a replacement. My bed did show up and was very accommodating to get the additional returned. Bed takes some work to put together but its sturdy and safe. I have a 3 and 6yr old and although my 3yr old is supposed to be on the bottom / every morning shes bed sharing top bunk. I assembled the staircase by myself but def recommend it being a two person job. Great price and good quality. Comes as shown in picture.
Likes: height makes you feel secure with a toddler on top bunk, stair are doable for toddler as they are not too steep and have traction slits at edge of each stair to prevent slips, no sharp edges to wood so no worries about kids ripping their skin if you have one that tosses and turns alot, rustic color, very sturdy no wobbling, weight capacity, light weight and easy to move across hard wood floors at least, stair panels are customizable made a little cubby instead of closing stairs off
Dislikes: smells like its been sitting in a moldy warehouse for a few years Be sure to have it
This is an awesome bed. I purchased the bunk bed one because didnt have the loft only. I just didnt install the bottom bunk and its perfect. Very well built. Very sturdy. But be prepared to spend a few hours putting it together. The stairs took a while also. But its awesome. Much higher weight capacity than 99 percent of the loft beds out there. Trust me. Worth the money. The instructions were perfect! I didnt get confused at all
This bunk bed is great for the price! We have 3 boys that have to share a room and this is absolutely perfect for them. The assembly wasnt too difficult, my husband and I were able to put it together in a few hours. Instructions were easy to follow. We did have a couple pieces of wood that arrived damaged but the company was very responsive and sent us replacements within a few days. Weve had this bed for about 4 months now and it seems to be holding up very well to 3 rowdy boys climbing up and down the ladder and wrestling on it. They love it and so do I! very pleasantly surprised
