Item is strong and durable. Great price. Very hard to assemble. All items needed were in box. Back cushion does not match width of arms of chair. As a body builder, I had to use all my strength pressing the chair against the way to insert the screws correctly. Will need two people to assemble chair. Product is strong, durable, comfortable and sturdy. Worth the money.
If you dont have a friend who can help you to set up this chair, dont buy it. I had several chairs from and generally had good experience, but this one is the one that took the longest time to install. There are so much parts and, at some point, you have to push the arm rest against the wall to put screws into holes on the back. The chairs quality is generally fine, but not easy to install.
Went together fairly easily, although getting the screws through the arm rests and into the holes on the back of the chair was a struggle. Fairly comfortable but after awhile my posterior begins to wish the padding on the seat was thicker. Nice looking chair.
To start, some of the reviews left by others are...
Someone left a review complaining that after removing the parts packed in the back of the chair they had to use a pillow for stuffing. First I built furniture for years, all backs have dead air space. Once you remove the chair parts, the layers of batting are there and the pulls are fastened in place, there is no stuffing missing. Just zip up the back and assemble.
Another posted the base was sent backwards. Hum, not that they assembled backwards. There is a front and back, they are marked.
A few posted the stitching came lose in the seat. Again I built furniture and I can see no flaw in construction that would cause that, perhaps abuse, propping up feet, sitting cross legged, putting feet on seat with shoes on. After I assembled this one of our young friends sit in it and yep, shoes on feet went to seat.
With that said, read the instructions and look at the assembly photos before un/packing the parts. Lay out the parts in order of the photo assembly. Dont assume you got it and know how. Remember each part goes in a certain place and direction. Take it slow, look at photos often.
I think it took me 20 minutes from unpack to sitting it in and not one issue was encountered.
I really wanted white but they were out so I got brown but I really think the chair is worth the money.
For the price, this is actually a fairly comfortable chair, but it does have a few overall flaws, mostly with the design and especially with assembly. One of the greatest areas lack is in support for the back. The entire chair comes packed into the back piece, except for the seat. As a result, theres a huge, hollow area in the back rest, which you feel when you lean back. I suppose I could fill it with foam or something, it would be nice if they just put it in a slightly bigger box (like the giant one ships in), and stuffed the back.
Construction has two big flaws. First, you have to assemble the star shaped piece that holds the wheels. It has five bolts. The instructions say to check and tighten these every 90 days. You snap a cover on over them. So, to check and tighten these, which are on the bottom of the chair... you are expected to flip it over (as an FYI, when you do this, the chair falls off the air/lift), remove the plastic cover, tighten and redo it. Not going to happen, and we all know that. So, if you have this design element that requires impossible maintenance for safety... why not just eliminate it and make this a solid piece, like most every chair Ive ever owned?
Second, the back of the chair bolts on using four bolts to the two arm rests. Youve got to press the arm to the back hard in order to get the bolts in. And, youve got to get all four of them aligned just right on mine, the leather cover covered two of the holes, and they werent properly cut. I had to tear it to get the bolts in. Seems like there should be a better way to do it. Frankly, deeper sockets and longer bolts would have done it, too.
Once its all together, though, it is fairly comfortable, except for that hollow back thing. It does seem mostly sturdy, except that the chair doesnt click onto the air lift very well // so, if you lean too far back, the seat part of it might come off the wheels.
Overall, you get what you pay for, and this was a very Basic chair.
