Cost is the only problem! this fit nicely under our twin bed. seems sturdy so far, wheel connection much better than the rounded option we previously bought on .
WARNING: I started to assemble this bed today and it was not making sense. The parts did not match the image in the directions. I called the manufacturer, the first person I spoke with said maybe they were mislabeled and I should try to switch the parts. Then I found another part that did not match. I called again. The second person I spoke with said, Oh, sorry. The directions and parts have changed, you received the old directions. REALLY!!! She then emailed me a PDF of the correct directions. They did make sense, but saying that, there is no way anyone could do this in an hour. Also, the slats are a pain to insert and the plastic tabs that hold them in place are very difficult to insert. I put them in boiling water to soften them up. This helped a LOT! It is finally assembled and does seem pretty sturdy. Most bunk beds have an opening. This bed requires you to lift your legs over the bars. Again, dont even begin to assemble unless you are certain you have the correct directions. Good Luck. (P.S. When I called the manufacturer I actually got a live person on the phone with the first ring / aming!!)
This bed has a high metal cage surrounding the upper bunk, which is good. The entire bed is about 6 lower than another futon bunk bed that we have. I would prefer that it be higher, because adults may have to duck when getting out of the futon sofa. It also sits lower to the floor, which means less under/bed storage. Our other futon bunk bed has unobstructed 10.5 clearance below the futon, which means we can easily put a trundle bed or storage under it.
Most of these bunk beds will move if the person above moves around a lot, but the bed is not in danger of collapsing. Assembly is not for the faint/of/heart, but my 15 year old son put it together in about 3 hours.
One nice thing is that there is a ladder on BOTH ends of the bed, so if you move it, there is still a ladder at the end of the bed! Most bunk beds have only one ladder.
Overall, Im happy with my purchase.
Great sturdy bed. It took about 2 hours to put together but it is worth it. My son used this bed for 3 years and its held up very well. Never any issues. The ladder isnt great and tends to hurt bare feet but if you have another ladder or pad the rungs its fine. (We used the swim noodles and cut them to fit. Worked great!)
I had misplaced the instructions and emailed Customer Service simply asking for the Assembly Instructions for the Metal Loft Bed with Desk and within 5 minutes, Amanda emailed me both versions (with without desk) of instructions. I was shocked at how fast and accurate their response was. Id give 10 stars if they had that option to review them!
We have had this bed for about 8 months. It wasnt that hard to assemble, but it did take some time; there are a lot of individual pieces to put together. It is very sturdy. My kids climb up and down with no shaking or wobbling of the bed. The bookshelf is great as a space saver in a small bedroom. I havent used the desk / I mainly chose this for the extra shelves. Im sure the desk is fine though. I knocked off one star because a little bit of the white paint is chipping off in some places and that is annoying. Overall though, its a good bed / especially for the price.
This bed was ordered last year and has held up with out worry. The metal design and the secure nuts and bolts are great, has not loosened at all yet. Being used for a 7 yr old girl (75 lbs) and her friends have been climbing all over it! I put this together myself, took about 3 hours, would go much faster with two people, but definately doable for one 40 yr old Mom. The directions were pretty clear, lots of pictures, just had one mixup where I put the wrond end so the holes for the ladder were on the insde. I would absolutely reccomend this bed for someone looking for a nice bunk bed.
This was bought to make the most out of a small room. It is great with that. My son feels as if his room is much bigger than it is b/ c of the loft set up. My husband and son spent 1/2 the day putting it together. My husband is usually pretty quick with these things. He actually had to resort to reading the directions and even that didnt seem to speed up the process. Now that its together though we really like it.
This thing was not fun to assemble. My hands still hurt. But, now that its done, it seems fine. Havent used it yet, but it looks like it will be fine for when kids come to spend the night.
It took my 21 year old son a long time to put together (5+ hours) but after it was done my 10 and 8 year old boys really love the bunk beds. It is sturdy but sometimes it wiggles when the 10 year old is on top but that is mostly because he is acting like a monkey /not literally of course! The only con is the ladder, its really painful on the feet because its metal. Im going to put something on the poles to cushion them. I would recommend the bunk beds and Im rather hard to please. LOL

I bought this about a year ago to go with the Kings Brand B39/1/B39/2 Metal Day Bed Frame, Twin, Black
Fantastic product
