    Nice for the price

The bed is fairly sturdy, but does wobble a little. The ladder rings do hurt your feet so you will need to purchase foam pipe insulation (the kind that has the split down the center) to pad the rails. You might want to put some up top as well for safety. The directions are vague but common sense will help you thru that. Other than that, my boys really like the bed. It took us about 3.5 hours to put together. Not fun but the boys enjoyed it. And its over now so it really doesnt matter. All in all, for the money, we love the bed. Also, the ladder ends up being at the front of the futon, not the back as shown in the picture. Maybe that was an error on our part, but it worked out better in our room layout so we are happy. The futon is fairly easy for an adult to convert and is super comfy with the 8 inch futon mattress sold on . We like it. Were happy. Good purchase.

    Gets the job done

Firstly, assembly was easy / included an alan wrench the right size for all bolts used in the process, and straightforward. The bed is high enough to allow room for my desk(living in a small apartment, this was the key factor in deciding to buy this bed), and low enough that I still have headroom with my ceilings at 91 inches. The only thing preventing a perfect review on my part is how wobbly the frame is / the supports are rather thin and it rocks back and forward even after tightening every bolt possible. Id attach it to the wall were it not an apartment, but obviously thats not doable in my current situation. Would recommend to anyone looking to increase space in an apartment or dorm.

My 16 yr old son put these together with no problems!!

I ordered these August 13, 2013 and they arrived within a few days in perfect shape. My son was anxious to put them together, but I warned him that he probably better read all the reviews on before he began. (So many reviews stated that these were such a pain to assemble that they took hours to complete. ) He responded with, I dont need to read the reviews, I can do it, no problem. and off he went to tear open the box and figure it out. An hour later, the beds were completely assembled without one question or problem!!! This is when I love having kids! The beds are perfect for his room. They look modern clean and are surprisingly durable. Dont let all the reviews scare you.....if a 16 yr old can do it, so can a patient adult who knows how to follow directions.

    Very sturdy/kids love it!

Very intricate to put together, but you could tell with each step how sturdy the beds would be. My grandsons love their new bunk beds!

    Great for Young Boys

My 6 year old loves his new bed. We recently moved and he needed more versatility for his room. He loves to sleep on top and then uses the bottom for playing video games. Also great for sleep overs. Would be nice if it came with the futon mattress instead of having to purchase separately, otherwise, very pleased with the purchase. Our two teen nephews put it together in less than 2 hours!

    Young teenagers very happy

My 13/year old twin daughters decided they wanted black metal bunk beds to create a more social atmosphere in their fairly small bedroom. This particular style worked great, because it has a smaller footprint (and price tag) than most wooden beds and certainly the side/by/side twin beds they had before. The frame is very sturdy, and even though it is tedious to put together, all those little pieces are reinforcing the slats which are holding our precious children. Reading the reviews proved most helpful, and Id like to thank the buyer who left feedback about using channel lock pliers to insert all those gray tabs. Absolutely do that. He suggested taping cardboard to the jaws of the pliers to make sure you dont scratch the frame. I used electrical tape. Another reviewer recommended inserting one side of the tab first then snapping the other side in with the pliers. Worked like a charm. Now, only time will tell how many years we can get out of these beds. So far, my daughters love them.

    Its nice.

I bought this for my room since my bedroom is tiny. The height was perfect and wasnt too bad to assemble. Only took about a half hour. The only thing is I wish there was an opening where you crawl up the ladder.

I got this for my girls (5 annd 7) and I could not be more thrilled with our purchase! I looks great, it is very sturdy, and assembly was easier than I had anticipated.
