We bought this platform bed for a small guest bedroom and put a blow up bed on it. It works perfectly and is very comfortable for our guests at a reasonable cost for us. Very easy to assemble, well built, nice looking, and arrived very fast. We did put the clear coat on it that they recommend but did not stain the wood due it is attractive in its natural state. We also got the under bed drawers and they make a perfect place to store extra bedding and guest towels.

Absolutely love the quality, craftmanship, the super easy assembly, and the durability - the oldest frame in the house is 10 years old, was disassembled and re-assembled through multiple moves, and is solid as rock to the day.
The beds have slowly replaced offerings from the local . While uses glued wood for slats and such, these are solid wood and have stood the test of time and my wild bed-jumping children. The slats from broke - or rather came apart layer by layer - from the middle.
A second big plus for this bed is the unfinished wood. Easy to pop into the local Home Depot and grab one of the many polyurethane options. For the one in the picture I used an espresso poly-and-stain all in one. The first coat sinks into the wood, the second one sort of standardizes the color across all the slats (they start with various shades of beige to green), and the third finishes off to a nice dark shade.
I probably skipped steps and did them wrong - I did not use any sandpaper at all. Given that the oldest bed with this approach has given me 10 years already without any maintenance, Im OK with the price-value curve here.
Assembly of the bed takes about an hour with my 8 year old helping me match up the parts to the part numbers, a power screwdriver with a hex bit, and a second adult helping put the final assembly together.
Im not sure if this matters in todays day and age, but I really like the manufacturers statement that this bed is from wood sourced from the US.
I dont kind its just my bed but good lord does it squeak when adjusting positions or when two people are in the bed. Other than that I think the bed is great. Just the noise is so bad I feel like it may crack.
I did a lot of research on queen size platform beds and looked at many before finally deciding to purchase this one by Frames. It was delivered this week and I couldnt be more pleased. It is solid wood with an aesthetically pleasing grain, very well-made and such a space-efficient design. Rather than leave it unfinished, I opted to stain it with Minwax Golden Oak stain (oil based). By the way, I had read many reviews and saw comments about it being rough and/or having marks. I didnt find that to be the case. Perfectionism has its place but I chose not to go that road, no need. So I didnt sand it initially, nor later. I didnt want it to be dark so I only did one application. It stained beautifully. After that, I applied two coats of Minwax Polyurethane. Since I dont need it to be perfectly smooth, I didnt sand after the second coat and didnt apply a third coat. It turned out just beautiful and smooth enough to the touch for my needs. It is easier to assemble with two people and isnt difficult at all--very good instructions plus a simple design. After having looked at platform beds ranging in price from the $200s to close to $3000, Im so glad I made the decision to go with this Charleston from Frames! For an additional $25 or so in stain and polyurethane from the hardware store, a little time and effort, I have a bed that looks and feels far more expensive than it was. Love this bed and the manufacturer!
We love this bed! It is 100% wood -tulip poplar(?) from Virginia. It was easy to put together-it took us maybe an hour. All the pieces fit well and we did not have to redrill anything. We did not sand it either. We might paint it this summer when we have more time and its warmer outside. It looks nice, very supportive of memory foam mattress and the drawers are awesome too! I had square storage bins under the previous bed and was able to put them in rolling drawers to help w organization since the bottoms are not flat. They are open slats.
This is a very solid bed frame. My biggest complaint is how long it took for my son and grandson to put all the pieces together. Plus the wood is unfinished and plain. With so many pieces it would be too much trouble to stain or paint it so Im stuck with bland....but reliable, so all in all a good buy.

Easy assembly
I was worried about the legs being wobbly. I am 6ft 1 and 230 pounds. Bed is solid and wont move at all.

Very sturdy product. Took a while to assemble and used ample screws without being too difficult. Highly recommend.
