I was REALLY surprised how solid this thing is. This thing is build to last. The back panel that almost everyone else just gives you small little nails to hammer in, this thing has screws with dents in the back pieces so you know where to secure it. Those cam connection fittings that you usually just screw into a whole in the piece, most of the dowel part is plastic, and the tightening nut is usually plastic? This has metal treaded part to screw into, most of the dowel is metal, and the tightening nut is metal. And that wheel on the front of the drawer to keep it from tipping is great.
Now, my middle and bottom drawer do catch just a bit right before they close, but I have not investigated on if I do not have a screw holding the drawer rails not fully in. But it still works great. It is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but if you pay attention to the dimensions, you wont have that problem.
I chose this drawer set because it had the least amount of wasted space between the back of the unit and the back of the drawer. I’ve got too much stuff to store to waste space. I also own the famous Alex drawers from IKEA, and I didn’t want any more HEAVY beasts like those in my home, so the mixed materials in this drawer set make it much much lighter and better option. My drawers are full of paper goods: sketch pads, construction paper, card stock, scrapbooking pads, stationery. Many of these items will not fit the typical 8.5 x 11” allowance for most paper storage, so these deeper and wider drawers are useful. I love that I can move this unit around on the dense shag carpet of my apartment and even fit it under my desk. My husband put this together and he had no difficulties, but he complained about the drawer bottoms being thin. Fully loaded with heavy paper, I have encountered no problems with the drawers and they are still very easy to open and close. I would definitely recommend this product.
After receiving and returning a different brand we decided to buy this brand. 1. Great price. 2. Easy to schedule delivery 3. Delivered on time 4. No problem with file: locks easily, drawers move smoothly, no dents. 5. So well packaged that took a bit of effort to unpack but very protective. Definitely would buy again.
Absolute pain in my ass to put together. But once complete its worth it. Very sturdy and roomy. Only downfall are the wheels are crap. But tge structure is great
I needed more storage for my tax office. This file cabinet came pre-assembled, of course, but it also has a lock that locks both drawers which is what I need for confidential tax information. It is very sturdy. It even came with the hanging file folder brackets so I did not have to pay extra for those.
If youve been to that Scandanavian big box store and are familiar with the putting together of their pieces, you know what Im talking about. That being said, once you spend the time getting it all together, its a handy piece. We needed a file cabinet that would fit under a credenza in the office and it works just perfectly. Im considering either cleaning out some files or buying another....
