    Pretty bed.

The instructions were poor and led to my friend and I having to redo a couple steps. Actually I think we got one wrong/mislabeled piece as well but it made a small cosmetic difference and I didnt want to wait for a replacement. The smell isnt as strong as I feared from these comments. Certainly didnt give anybody a headache but it does smell like paint a little bit. Someone said it was composite instead of solid but I can literally see the wood grain (subtly) under the paint. I started to worry some of you were getting knock offs by how much the reviews varied, so I made sure to order directly from the seller and Im happy I did. I wish the bed was taller but really only Pottery Barn sold taller beds. With a normal ten inch mattress at the bottom bunk, an adult cannot sit under the top bunk. I didnt want to replace the mattress I already have but if youre buying new mattresses I think a little thinner would be better. We bought a tuft and needle nod 8 mattress for the top bunk. That works pretty well and also comes in 6 which would give you more head clearance on the bottom. This is another plus to a over full vs full over full: parent can still sit comfortably on the edge of the bed to tuck in the littles. As many reviews have said, the bed slats are way too far apart. For the bottom I put in the slats from the bed I replaced, but I will need a bunky board or more slats for the top bunk. While it may be supportive enough as is.. its hard to make the bed without sheets etc hanging down over the bottom bunk as three isnt a good place to tuck them in with only sparsely spaced slats. All in all I am satisfied with my purchase. The price was reasonable, delivery was quick, and the assembly is not too hard with a friend. My kids are so happy and, assuming it stays intact, they will get many years of use out of the beds. Bonus that I can theoretically separate it into two beds at the end, which is just a matter of lifting the top bunk off and putting it down. Anyway, I hope this helps if youre on the fence.

    Amazing product

We LOVE this bunk bed...now the assembly is a bit much. However we would buy it again!

    Solid materials but horrible instructions.

We got it open-box so we got a great deal. The instructions are horrible which made assembly difficult but doable. We love how its solid wood and the color accents our room nicely. The kids love the slide as well.

    Great value; Still smells

Great value! It was fairly easy to assemble as well. It does have a lingering smell even after a month

    so far so good

I had to get a bed for my spare bedroom on short notice. It arrived within the time frame promised. So far it's been used a handful of times, and it's holding up. The only issue was that assembly was a pain. Only the head board has a label identifying left and right side. The rest of the pieces weren't label so it took a lot of time trying to piece it together. Because the slats on the head board didn't fit tightly, they kept popping out when I was trying to put it together. Also, it would have helped if all the same pieces hardware were packaged separately instead of having all pieces thrown together, where you have to fish for the right piece.

    So far so good.

So far so good. I like the fact it is low to the ground because my 5 yr old moves a lot. It helps that if he moved and fell out he would only fall 5 inches, that's with mattress, off the ground. This is him bottom bed.He hasn't yet. Also, with furniture awareness and I hope for all parents out there, cheap furniture can hurt kids. I watched broken on Netflix and it talks about the malm dresser falling on little kids. Malm dressers from ikea. Very sad because furniture should be stable not cheaply made with particle board. Furniture should be made well and last forever ,meaning, passing it to your kids and then passing it to their kids. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford great furniture so people have to get cheaply made stuff to get modern and good looking furniture. I had to look here to make sure what it's made of. I did before I bought that it's real wood. I had to double check because I forgot. I wouldn't have made a purchase if it wasn't. Unfortunately my little guy kicked one of the slats a few times because he was being a brat. He actually loosened one side of a bracket but not breaking it. I screwed it back on. My older kid who is 120 lbs sleep on top. He doesnt move much and no one jumps on top obviously for safety reasons. I had to shake it just to make sure that stability is good. It is and hopefully it stays that way and also I checked the screws to make sure they aren't loose. I did purchase this in April this year. So far so good. Will make updates if there's anything wrong.

    Great low bunk with slide

Very sturdy bunk bed. Have had compliments on the gray color. The lower height is great for our 2 and 4 year old grandkids. They love the option of sliding, versus just climbing, out of the top bunk! Two persons assembling the bunk was essentially not a problem. Just need some patience and some common sense.
