I think the frame is a good value for the money. I think its probably a soft wood, a hard wood is surely a lot more money.
If I were a heavy person dont know if it would be ok or not... I wouldnt flop down hard on it. Use common sense.

This bed frame is well-designed and well-made. All the holes are in the right place, all the parts fit together as they should. Assembly was quick and easy. (The drill in the photos was not needed.) The use of two longitudinal center rails keeps the slats short, so they dont flex. Based on what I have read, the spaces between the slats are small enough to provide adequate support to foam or hybrid mattresses. The material (tulip poplar) may not be to everyones taste, and staining it to a consistent color would be tricky, but I like the effect of the natural color finished with polyurethane. The bottom line: I would buy it again.
Easy to put together. Seems sturdy and minimal noise when moving around in bed. I have this on hardwood floors and have not experienced any sliding at all. Great product for a great price and bonus
I bought this bed as we moved into a smaller house and had to get smart with storage. This bed has 11 height on the sides, so plenty of space to fit drawers, suitcases or whatever you need. I would recommend this bed!
