First, use or buy allen head bits and use your drill for all the allen head bolts and screws. If not, you will hurt your hand(s). The l/shaped tool they provide (and you probably have) is inadequate for the job. That is because some of the pre/drilled holes are too tight. You will tear your hand apart cranking. After a few cranks, I was happy to find that I had allen head bits in my tool bag. Most of the rest was easy. At one point, it was necessary to have another set of eyes to line threads up to insert a bolt. You will also need another person to lift the upper bed onto the lower one. The finished product is nice
Item arrived as scheduled. Some boards did have a few scratches which was a bit disappointing, but overall great bunkbeds. Only suggestion is that packaging should be more a priority so boards are protected and not sliding around as it is being transported which will most likely cause less of a chance of getting scratched or dented.
These are a great fit for my girls room. Perfect dimensions for a small room. Took awhile to assemble but thats counting some pauses. Overall about 6.5 hours from start to finish. All pieces were included and all of the pieces arrived in great shape with no blemishes. The color is like a yellowish/white, sort of blonde, but it looks really nice. Obviously, our cat approves.
My wife and I bought a metal frame bunk bed (twin over full that could be converted into a futon) about a year ago from a different company. The metal material used to make the bottom bunk frame buckled after the first day from lack of proper support and the heat (we live in Florida and it was particularly hot that day).
We originally wanted a wooden frame bunk bed at the time (thats what I grew up with myself and loved it), but that was all we could afford, so we did what we could to keep the frame supported and it worked for a year or so.
Then we found this bunk bed, perfect pricing for our budget and looked to be extremely sturdy wood construction material.
When we received it on our front porch, the box looked like it had been through some trouble during shipping and I was worried about parts being broken or missing (not the fault of the company, but just something that happens in delivery sometimes). But I much to my happiness, when I opened the packaging EVERYTHING was in there and no damage or missing parts at all. The wood looked and felt incredibly solid (not particle board like you see in most furniture these days).
Setting out to put it together after a long workweek (this was late Friday night) and my wife and I were tired, but determined. The instructions were very clear but in my tired hastiness I missed a step and we ended up having to take some parts off and put them back in their proper place again; mainly the railing sides due to the openings for attaching the ladder to the frame.
This of course was completely MY error. That being said, when we finally got it together, my children (two boys, 6 and 10) loved it (as well as our cat who thinks its as much hers as it is my 6 year olds, lol). Its easily one of the nicest piece of furniture we own now, and couldnt recommend it more to anyone on the fence about purchasing it! You WILL NOT be dissappointed!
Very good quality, nice color, strong, beautiful design, comes very well packaged, instructions are very clear. It is a very good product. My sons love it!
