Not as as functional as advertised

The arm rest are too short not as functional as advertised. The lumbar support is lacking.

    comfortable

I initially wanted to return this chair. I thought the seat was hard overall uncomfortable. A few weeks later realized it was supporting my back. Very happy now.

    Worth the price

This chair is fantastic. I bought a floor sample IRL, in Wasabi, so had a chance to try it out after researching task chairs for months. I am at my desk for mayy hours and never have any pain or stiffness from this chair (from sitting too much, yes). Its so comfortable that I forget Im in it. The adjustable arms make a huge difference as we all have different arm lengths. The seat can be shifted backwards or forwards and the back can be set to be static or to allow for sitting back. Yes, you may set it and forget it, but thats the point: forgetting youre in a chair. Ive sat in many different task chairs over the years and the Gesture is by far the most comfortable and lives up to the hype. Full endorsement.

    Disappointed

Given the price and reviews, I really wanted to like this chair. The adjustability is great but the seat is just too hard. The lumbar support is better than average but still a little less than desirable. Here is what Ive learned. Go sit in some chairs at a store. Everyone is different. I sit 8+ hours a day and maybe Im more sensitive but some of the top rated chairs (Gesture, HumanScale Freedom and Herman Miller Aeron) just didnt have the softness in the seat that I need. Im switching to the X Chair, X4 with memory foam cushion. Fingers crossed.

    Best chair ever!

I been wanting a new home office chair and was reluctant to get such an expensive chair. But its well worth it. I think this chair will last many many years! And the design is great too - elegant and modern. Thanks

    Good and comfortable chair

Good chair and comfortable. Make sure to get the head piece. Worth the price? Still deciding. Im not regretting this purchase as it came together and was easy to use. Definitely sturdy boasting a 72lb. Wait for a sale if you can.

Best in class both in engineering and design in my opinion!

Ive been eyeing this chair for awhile now. Especially when Wirecutter recently rated the best office chair of 2021. When I saw this chair for $200 off on Prime Day I had to make the purchase and Im very glad I did. When I first sat on it Ill be honest I didnt think it was worth $800 more than my current chair but within 1 hour or so I started to really feel the difference and as the days go on that value increases more. (1) the way the rear shell is designed, there are very light elastic type rubber bands that flex and naturally catch your lumbar support dynamically (2) the mobility of these arms are very functional. I just slightly moved one arm to the left so that I could type this more comfortably as I look at my other monitor. This feels like a luxurious feature to me and I make micro changes to the arms often, even by just swinging my elbows. (3) there are very simple controls under the chair, one knob moves the chair forward/backward on rails, I hardly use this now that its set; the other knob controls tension and how much force is required to lean back. when reclining the chair somehow finds a natural balance so that there is no tension on your body. on this second knob, theres also a switch with 4 clicks, each click sets a limit to how much the chair can recline so that if you want to sit straight up, just leave it at the first click. personally I leave it on click 4 and adjust the tension so that the option to recline all the way back is always there. The seat cushion and arm rests are extremely comfortable for long hours. At first, it may feel a bit tough, but within a minute it will feel soft and perfect. Its a weird sensation. The design of the chair as I look at it from the rear is very aesthetic. And the heavy weight of the chair allows you to recline all the way down without any fear. The chair is built solidly and there are absolutely no creaks or noises. The chair looks and feels premium and I look forward to using it every day. With a 12 year warranty and probably a life long worth of sitting its a perfect purchase for me as Ill probably be sitting in it for half of my life as I work on my computer. If I had a choice, I would probably want the head-rest but that wasnt available for Prime Day $200 off sale, and to be honest I wouldnt pay $1200 ($400 more) for one with a headrest. The chair is still superb without it. (regarding some negative reviews: anyone with complaints either has a major body incompatibility or received a used one, I cannot imagine this chair squeaking or having other nuances.)

needs different casters if you have wood flooring, otherwise great

This chair is so comfortable that I like sitting in it even when Im not working. I suppose theres no higher compliment I can give. Its very expensive and theyre certainly making a killing, but you will probably get over 10 years of use out of it. We had chairs like this at work and they didnt seem to break much, plus in any case theres a 12 year warranty. The main gotcha is that if you have wooden floors, you will need to buy a different set of casters to prevent the chair from moving around too easily. These are the ones you want - I think they should let you choose which casters you want when buying the chair on , but it doesnt add a huge cost percentage-wise to buy the replacements. The other gotcha is that so far it seems like it will be difficult to clean. Ill update the review once I try doing it. Other than that, if you can afford it, I would recommend it. After youve had a chair like this, you will never go back to one-size-fits-all non-adjustable chairs when you are working.
