Ordered 2 square, received 2 octagon. Screws missing for one. I can make it work for me and wont return plus trip to hardware store for screws. Heavy and well built but wont stand on its own when deployed in light wind gusts. Large top vent. Glad I bought the overpriced bases but I will add canvas sand bags as well.
Ordered the 10x10 SQUARE umbrella. What was delivered was the 11 Umbrella. Box said 10x10 but inside was the wrong umbrella. Besides that the Umbrella is actually aming. Opens easy and heavy duty. Which why I gave it 3 stars even though its the wrong umbrella
This is a beautiful and well built umbrella. Assembly is easy and the coverage of the umbrella is massive! It slides into the ready/height position via a locking squeeze lever that slides up/down vertically. The canopy is deployed via a crank handle. Then, there is a second crank handle down near the base that very smoothly can rotate the umbella a full 360 on its axis. Great designthe build quality of this umbrella is on par with brands 3/4x the cost.
Unfortunately we had to return it because it was actually too big for our patio space, and couldnt be fully deployed in the corner of our yard where we wanted to keep it. Bummer!!! But that was my fault for not measuring properly. This is a great umbrella and I would highly recommend it to anyone, so long as you have the room for it!
For what its worth, previous reviews gripe about not receiving a square umbrella. Ours was indeed square as pictured and was th correct color we ordered as well (black).
Honestly better than I expected. Mine showed up a little different than some of the other reviews it had two crank handles not just one. It also came with a cover that wasnt listed in the offering. I plan to toss the x/bracing floor support and attach it directly to the deck. It tilts in 1 direction and spins 360 degrees.
This umbrella is awesome. I did extensive research and comparison shopping before purchasing this umbrella. Arrived in two days, thank you Prime. Beautifully packaged. Relatively easy to assemble. Well constructed with noticeable attention to finishing details. Suggest you order the custom base which provides stability. This was a gift to friends who are thrilled, therefore so am I
Aside from virtually no instructions, this is a very nice umbrella, once I figured out how to take the packing out from the inside and manipulate the crank. The color seems more of a tan to me that it looks in the photos but I can work with it. As others have suggested, make sure you buy the matching water/filled base (even though the base expensive!). The umbrella is very large and unwieldy and came close to tipping over when I tried out the setup inside. I am sure that you would have difficulty with it tipping over in any kind of outside breeze without the accompanying base. With the base it seems very sturdy.
This is a very large well engineered, well built offset square umbrella. I brought it to replace a 9 foot octagonal offset umbrella that was blown down by a vey strong wind. Everything on this unit is rather stout. The framing is a big aluminum extrusion; the base is a rather heavy casting; all the ribs are larger gauge square sectionals. The fabric seems heavy duty.
I set up the umbrella after bolting the base to the concrete driveway, the fit and finish seems a step up from the usual low wage manufacturing products. The cranking operation to unfurl the umbrella is very smooth, the fabric fits nicely on the frame, no flabby extra material. I was impressed by the linkages to open and close the double top mechanism; this will be good to let out the warm air that builds up under a hot sun, and also to release air pressure. The rotational operation is smooth, through some kind of gear drive,but with no positive stops. So far there has been a couple of windy days but the umbrella stayed put at where it was parked.
I was a bit leary of ordering this square umbrella after reading some of the other reviews about receiving the octagonal unit. In fact I received two units, both were the right square ones. The first one was delivered damaged by OnTrac; I notified and they arranged UPS to pick up the damaged unit the next day. was able to get the replacement the very next day, pretty impressive customer service. A good experience all round.
An addendum: good after sale service in sending a replacement part. airmailed the part from the factory.
great product, originally got the octagonal umbrella. The customer care was great, they took care of it right away and had another one in a week.
